Volunteer with CSD
C3 is proud to partner with the Centralia School District. Here are the current volunteer needs at some local CSD schools.
Volunteer with Lewis County Guardian ad Litem Program
Advocating for children in dependency cases is challenging and rewarding work, and it takes a special person to be a GAL.
Volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds, but each is carefully screened and selected. To become a volunteer you must be able to pass a background check with no criminal convictions in the past 10 years, no child abuse/neglect history with CPS, positive written recommendations from three persons who are not relatives, and successfully compete the interview. Once you are accepted into our program, we provide 30 hours of initial training, an experienced mentor to guide you through your first cases, and support from program staff.
Volunteers can expect to spend a minimum of 10 or more hours per month per case on GAL work. When a case is first starting, this time requirement may be more, and conversely, when a case is in progress or winding down, you may spend less time. We require you to compete at least one face-to-face visit with each child you are assigned to per month. We try very hard to match children and volunteers by geographic locations, so you don’t have to travel too far. Our program also offers mileage reimbursement for home visits, meetings, and court appearances. You will also be required to make at least monthly contact with your assigned supervisor.
If you would like to be considered for the next training session, please complete the application and return to our office. We would be happy to answer any questions or provide additional information. Please visit our website at www.lewiscountygal.org for even more information.

CSD Prayer Requests
CSD appreciates the continual prayer for our students and staff. Thank you! A couple other specific prayer requests:
New teachers: please pray for our new teachers. Pray for their resilience and willingness to learn and grow as they develop as professionals. After the initial euphoria of starting a school year, October and November can present challenges in confidence and efficacy. Please pray for then as they experience this process and first year.
Our high school freshman: please pray for our ninth graders. The transition to high school can be challenging and we know the importance of success in ninth grade to graduation and post high school success.
Our 7th grade students: please pray for our seventh-grade students that are new to middle school and experiencing adolescence. Pray for their growth and their decision making at this pivotal time in their learning and development.
