Memorials & Celebration of Life

Celebrating the life of our loved ones.

At Centralia Community Church, we understand that funeral planning can be a difficult time for families, and it is our desire to assist and support you in any way we can. C3 conducts services for active attenders and their immediate family members. Pastoral staff will review service requests for others who do not actively attend CCCOG.

A memorial or celebration of life is an event that has extremely high significance both in the church as well as in the community at large.  At Centralia Community Church, we are pleased to offer a lovely facility, caring staff, and a Christian atmosphere to honor the precious life and memories of the deceased.

Please contact CCCOG through the form below to inquire about Memorial or Celebration of Life services. A coordinator will answer questions, schedule a family meeting, and assist in prepping the facility as needed.

    1. Request use of the facility through our online portal.

    2. Coordinating and confirming the final service date and time may take 48 hours. To avoid miscommunication, service date and times are not final unless confirmed by the Coordinator. C3 advises that family and friends should not make travel plans until the final service date and time is confirmed and communicated.

    3. The date of the service will be put on the church calendar after receiving approval of requested date from officiant, tech, and custodial.

    1. A CCCOG Coordinator will facilitate all C3 staff needed for your event (pastoral, tech, custodial, facility). They will also help arrange times for set up prior to the service. They will handle many details of the service and bring to attention things you might otherwise overlook in regards to the facility use.

    2. Furniture and equipment on the platform will be moved by church staff only. The drums and piano are not to be moved. Any other musical instruments to be used need to be communicated with the Coordinator ASAP to arrange the needed cables and so the sound technician can plan accordingly.

    3. The family assumes TOTAL obligation for damages to the buildings and/or property.

    4. C3 encourages special requests and personal touches within the service/reception and will make every effort to accommodate family wishes. Tables, guest book podiums, and easels are available as needed.

  • If requested, C3 staff will officiate the service. The family may request that a minister not on staff at CCCOG officiate the services. The family is responsible for communicating plans and coordinating with outside officiants separate from C3.

    1. Services at C3 require coordination with our technical team to manage the audio/visual elements of the service. The Coordinator will work with the family to determine audio/visual needs and will coordinate with the technical team to program audio/visual resources.

    2. The Coordinator will discuss the use of prerecorded music, soloists, or guest musicians with the family during the planning period.

    3. All media and anything to be on the large projectors (if using Sanctuary) must be submitted to the Coordinator at least 3 days prior to the service.

    4. Live Streaming the service may be an option, but arrangements must be made at least 3 days prior to the service. Recording the service directly on an SD card (family provided) is an option (wide angle camera shot).

    5. All sound checks will be held one (1) hour prior to the beginning of the service. They must conclude no later than thirty (30) minutes prior to the starting time of the service.

  • CCCOG does not provide nursery space or childcare for services.

    1. The facility use fee includes the church facility and the use of tables and chairs.

    2. It is the responsibility of the family to provide all of your own kitchen help and servers. You will need to furnish all of the food (finger foods/cookies/etc.), beverages, and utensils needed as well. To help assist you in planning, the Coordinator will have a list available of some of the commonly needed items for your reception.

    3. A time to set up for the reception or display tables can be arranged with the Coordinator.

    4. Please remove all decorations, flowers, and memorabilia at the conclusion of the reception time. Please empty all garbage and dispose in dumpster.

  • The cost of a service at CCCOG will be determined by the services requested by the family. Some fees are dependent on use. Facility fee may be waived.

    1. Sanctuary use includes Commons, Family Room, Green Room, and Foyer. Sound, Media, Custodial required

    2. Family Room only (also includes Commons). Custodial required.

    3. C3 Ministry Center has A/V equipment and does not require the use of tech or media personnel. Custodial required.

The balance of all fees must be paid in full 3 days prior to the service.

It is customary for the family to offer an honorarium to the officiant and others supporting the service (musicians, soloists, etc). These honorariums can be given directly to the individuals.

Honorariums to individuals are not commensurate with fair market value for time and services rendered. They are honorary in which token amounts acknowledge value and appreciation. If a person chooses not to accept the honorarium, for personal or other reasons, he/she can return it to you. Don’t be offended if a friend does not return an honorarium - there may have been out-of-pocket expenses such as child care, travel, time off work, etc.

  • The staff at C3 will take care of tables and chairs after the service. The family should be prepared to take flowers, leftover food, displays, pictures, and other personal items with them as they leave, or arrange for pickup of these items from CCCOG on the same day as the service.
